All eyes are on Britain. The upcoming wedding has got the world in a tizzy. Amongst all the bad news that the media loves to revel in, we have a wonderful wedding to look forward to. A new wedding, the hope of a brand new future, a new beginning and the sparkling innocence and reaffirming [...]

Do you have something like that going on in your life? In your home? Does that door always stick but you are used to the extra tug so you don't fix it? Does the toilet handle need to be jiggled in order to work but you don't even realize it anymore? Does the garage light work backwards - push up to shut off, down to turn on - but that's just the way it is? Do you have to walk too far to put your dishes away but that's where they put the pantry? Do you hit your knee on the side of the Roman tub every day when you take a shower, but it's just the way it is? Do you put your clothes on chairs because there's no room in your badly designed closet?

This weekend I went to a possible new client to give a presentation. The wife was all excited about the changes I proposed but the husband was hesitant. There were many reasons for this, most of which I can only conjecture. However, the words the wife kept saying and kept ringing in my ear were [...]

Today I gave my first telecall. It was a very interesting experience. It was fun, exhilarating, nerve wracking and a few more emotions I haven’t quite labeled. I have always admired a REAL performer. What does that mean? A REAL performer, can reach every member of the audience all the way to the back of [...]

A house is only as good as it’s foundation. The same is true for your body. My mom always made sure I had good shoes. Rest of the clothes didn’t matter but we ALWAYS had good shoes. As a result I have “pretty feet”. A friend of mine and I have a joke. My feet [...]

It’s one of the most common questions that people ask when designing their home: “How long will this be in style?” Unfortunately, trends don’t last nearly as long as the items in your home.
There is no designer that can tell you that your style won’t change in 30 years. Just like cars, there are always [...]

Yesterday I fell in love with a pair of glasses. I know that may sound mundane to some of you, but I have worn glasses for a very long time and finding something really unique is really rare. These were made by designer Cartier – frameless in front with sides that were carved wood. Well, [...]
